Application
APPLICATIONS.
New Squiring Ceremonies occur on the 1st of every month, but you can put the applications in at any time before that and I'll get to them as quickly as I can.
Please remember to check and make sure you aren't using a PB from this list, or currently held on reserve. Remember, all non-live action characters must be given a PB as well, so take this into account if you wanted to app a cartoon or anime character.
You may apply for up to three characters, only two of which may be for canon characters. This is the character cap for the game. The exception to this is if you have purchased any extra 'character slots' in the Plot Shop. You must buy the slot before putting in an app for it, or that app will be rejected. When purchasing an AU character slot, you must contact the GM prior to app writing, in order to have the AU approved.
All applications are screened.
Post your application as a response to this post (in several comments if necessary). Do not link applications.
Please use the appropriate form below to apply:

Information on Sections / Requirements:
Player Name: YOUR name, or online handle
Player E-mail: An address at which you can be reached by the mods
Instant message contact (Discord/etc): If you don't have one, just put N/A
Plurk (if applicable): Leave this blank if you don't have a plurk.
Is the player at least 18 years of age? Lying in this section is grounds for immediate game dismissal, if the GameMaster finds out about it.
Character's Full Name: Self-explanatory. Include any titles the character might have/hold.
Canon: Canon chars only. Name of canon. Specify movie/comics/manga/anime/books version if necessary.
PB/Actor: What is the name of the person you are using icons of to represent your character?
Character's Starting Level: If you know what level you would like to make your character upon entrance, please state it here. Characters may be any level up to 9th to begin, at this point in the game. If you're unsure about game mechanics and don't feel comfortable about deciding, please contact the GM or wait until acceptance.
Character Age: Characters should be at least 16 years of age.
Physical Description: Include any unusual or distinctive marks or features. This section does not have a required length.
Character's Species/Race (aka human, elf, dragonblood human, etc): What kind of being your character is / what bloodlines they have.
Character History (Pre-Veil): Canon characters may provide links in this section. Original characters are expected to write out their character's background, although they may submit it in the style of a timeline of events if you'd prefer that over a narrative. There is no required length to this section. Keep in mind that any gaps in your character's background (about, for example, their life in the Shadow World, or reasons why certain things have happened to them) may be filled in by the GameMaster and used as plot fodder. :) I actually encourage creating original characters with little pre-veil history (that they remember/you have decided) for this reason!
Post Veil History: If you are playing a canon character, or original character who was not born in the game world, please expand on any history you have established for them since they came through the Veil. What country or city did they arrive in? How long ago did they arrive here? What difficulties in adjusting did they face / how did they cope? You are free to invent NPC characters that they encountered out in the world who helped or hindered them and can even suggest PBs for them. These characters may be utilized by the GM later, so giving some indication of their personality will help her make them as close to your conception of them as possible. You may also use this section to describe how you envision your character to have been invited to join the Knights, unless you would prefer to play that out upon entering the game. Feel free to contact the Game Master with any questions you have about the world to help you complete these section. You don't need to lock in every detail at this point, but having a general idea of what they've been doing / what they've encountered in this world before joining the Knights is encouraged.
Chosen Canon Point: For canon characters only. What point in your canon was your character taken from when they fell through to the mundane world?
Personality and Psychology: Canon characters must submit at least 800 words in this section, and original characters at least 500, on both the external personality and the internal psychology of their character. Please explore character motivations, influences, weaknesses, strengths, fears, goals, etc. This is one of the two most important sections of your application, so please take the time to develop it, and avoid repetition. Sample Personality/Psychology section.
Powers and Abilities: Any unique powers or abilities your character possesses. Please be specific about what they are capable of - if necessary, you may link to lists of powers. For wizards, etc., who have the capability to cast vast numbers of spells, you're free to give examples and list instead what their limitations are. Also use this section to discuss any special skills your character has, such as fighting prowess, technical expertise, a degree in psychology, whatever. There is no required length for this section.
Roleplay Samples
Link to a sample of your character in action: You may provide any example of roleplay that showcases an understanding of your character as described in the above personality section. This could be in the form of a first person journal entry, a prose log, a prose tag, an action spam thread, a string of journal style comments, etc etc. You may use new material, or link from memes, museboxes, Dear Mun, or previous games. There is no required length, but if the sample does not provide an adequate example of your character's voice, you will be asked to provide secondary samples. You may provide more than one link.
Link to a sample of your prose writing style: You may provide any example of your third person writing style that showcases your particular style. This sample does not need to be written about the character you are apping. What I am looking at here is your quality of writing, so please do not send samples with improper spelling, grammar, spacing, etc. Sample should be at least 450 words.
Any other important information (including special inventory items in their possession): If your character has some kind of item that is a part of their history, please expand on what it is and how it works here. Once again, anything not specified about the item is fair game for the GM to play with. Also, if you have anything else about your character that was not covered above, please expand on it here.
Why do you think this character would join/work with the Knights? Pretty self-explanatory, but please give at least 50 words on what your character hopes to get out of joining the Knighthood, and why it's logical that they would say yes to the offer. This should include not only why THEY would agree to it, but also what Wynn, the Knights' leader, would see in them that would prompt him to say yes. He's an excellent judge of character, including a person's potential, and will not agree to let anyone join the Knights who he does not think has the capacity to be heroic.
Do you have a preference for which member of the Knights your character is squired to? If you wish, you can suggest the Knight (either PC or NPC) that your character will be squired to. A full list of Knights is available on the Roster. During the squiring period (which can last anywhere from 2-8 months or more) this Knight will serve as their go-to for questions regarding the Knighthood, acting as a mentor so that they can be trained in protocol. The elder Knight will also be the one to evaluate whether they would make a good full member of the organization. This Knight may or may not have been the same character who first made yours aware of the organization's existence and brought them to meet Wynn (you can request someone different for both, if you'd like). You may also discuss the circumstances under which you'd like your character to have learned about the Knights here, or in the history section. More info is available on NPCS here.
[AU specific] Please explain, in as much detail as possible, how your character's canon world will be AUed to be set in this universe: Characters who are apped as AUs will have their canon storyline translated to fit into this game world from the very beginning. They will not have traveled through the Veil, but rather lived their whole lives here. Their storylines must be translated to mesh with the way things work in this world (with Shadowkind, magic, and the Veil existing). You are encouraged to keep as close to the canon source material as possible. The more information available the better, but you can of course be more vague about actions of characters outside your own, in case anyone else decides to app from your AU. I'm more concerned about how things translate in terms of the storylines' larger place in the world (For example: stating the existence of a city or organization that does not exist in the game world so far and giving details on what they do and how it's affected by the parameters of this universe).
[AU specific] Character AU History (be detailed!): If canon history is available online, please link it first. Then, detail anything that is changed in this AU version that is significant to the character/world.
[AU specific] Chosen "Canon" Point: Your AU should follow as closely as possible to the canon storyline, which should allow you to pick an approximate equivalent in terms of canon timeline.
